Oceanside- Mormon Battalion

After the Zoo, we went over to Old Town San Diego. We have ancestors who were in the Mormon Battalion. One of the men as well as his wife were members, so we went to the new Mormon Battalion site. It was really nice. I loved the building and they had a tour to go on with a fun movie to go with it. At the end there were things for the kids to do, like pan for gold (they found some), work the water pump, build things out of adobe, and wash clothes on a washboard. It was a fun site and while the tour didn't hold the kids' attention, the fun stuff out back did :)

Zach was really good at the water pump. We decided if we had to live back then that would definitely be his job.

At the end of this day we went to Rockin' Baja in Old Town. It was SO good! It was my first time there, but John had been there years ago with his family. You order a bucket of lobster/shrimp/steak/chicken and then unlimited tortillas, beans and whatever else. It was so good! Plus there was a live band and Elizabeth LOVED it. After such a long day I was surprised she was so into it, but she was rocking out! My dad got a video of it.
