Lately, Zach has been shy about some things. He is more aware of meeting new people, but he remembers you if you've met before and is pretty comfortable. He loved having the cousins here last weekend and remembered them right away and wanted them to come play right away. When the home teachers come he spends most of the time trying to get them to come play trains in his playroom.
But in music makers he is getting more shy with so many kids...he isn't much of a performer :) He doesn't sing the songs at all while we are there, but then comes home and sings them all the time. With the motions. It's funny. For now anyway. I like that he takes his time getting into the world (much like his birth...) and does things when he is ready. I asked his nursery leader if he sings during class and she said he participates, but realized he doesn't really sing along. He comes home from nursery singing all the songs and remembers all the words. Especially 'Wheels on the Bus' he knows what verse comes next and all the hand motions. I have been trying to get it on video, but he stops if he sees it.
Elizabeth is a snuggler. She wants to smoosh her face to yours all the time. I have heard of people saying their baby wasn't a snuggler (like my mom, talking about me) and Elizabeth happens to be the opposite. If she is fussy, I just put my face to hers and it usually calms her right down. She is teething and not having fun, so yesterday afternoon I just held her all afternoon and she was great. Didn't fall asleep or anything, just sat there. It was sweet. She is rolling all over and scooting. She will be in a different position if you out her on the ground within seconds. She isn't all over the place yet, just kinda rolling and pushing herself, usually towards a toy. Sometimes it's a car and then it often gets taken away from her...but replaced by something else...something way less cool than a toy. She LIGHTS UP all the time. She loves smiling and making cute noises. I think her first word is 'Hiiii :)' That's how she says it, too. She says it when she sees you and gets all cute and excited. She is also eating...as seen in the last post. Don't get in her way when there is something to eat nearby. She will do anything to get to whatever it is, and then shoves it in her mouth.
She was eating Veggie Straws today at lunch, one in each hand, and John noticed she was eating one bite from her left hand, then one from her right. She did this pattern until they were both gone. So cute.
