Seattle, Day 1

This last weekend I got to go on a girl's weekend trip to Seattle! It was the sisters in law and our mother in law (and John's one sister). One of the sisters in law couldn't make it and we missed her (!) but we had so much fun getting away for a little while. Seattle was beautiful and we had such a great time! We started off at a Pancake place since we were just off of our planes and starving. It was a cute little ma and pa place with great pancakes and blackberry crepes. And we learned about 'Fritters' which most of us had never heard of and thought sounded hilarious! We got in and went to Pike's Place Market. It was FULL of flowers, fresh fruit/veggies and fish. Heather and I split a huge cup of crab with cocktail sauce on top. I think if we lived near a fresh fish market I would want that for a meal once a week.

From the market, we walked up a few blocks to a Nordstrom Rack. It was HUGE! It was several stories tall, with a floor for men's clothing, women's clothing, shoes, etc. Being the awesome shoppers that we are, a few of us found some great stuff. Ahh, a day walking around the market and then shopping the Rack?? Awesome.

We ended up not being able to go up the Space Needle that night, so we went to Ivar's Salmon House. Of course, the salmon was amazing. The Clam Chowder too, and it was right on the water across from downtown so we could see everything. Great place!

These flowers were in bloom everywhere! They are rhododendrons (well, that's what Deanna told us) and they smell gorgeous.
