Christmas morning! We woke up just before 7 and lined up and came to see what was under the tree. Well, under, around, taking up the whole room, ya know. We were too busy enjoying to get many pictures! There is always a hidden pickle for us to find, and this year Santa hid one for the girls, the boys, and the kids. The boys' one was really hard! Caitlin found the girls one. John found the boys one later that afternoon (we didn't have an actual 3rd pickle, so they made one out of green construction paper. And then my dad cut it down to about 2cm big.) He found it on The Grinch ornament (same exact color as the tiny paper).
His present was a portable stereo that has a good case so you can take it hiking, camping, wherever and plug in your i-whatever for music. Good work, Babe!
We all went to my parents' ward that started at 10. We realized later that we shouldn't have hurried to get done, but rather saved most things for after church. O well, we'll have to remember that next time it's on a Sunday. Church was great, lots of musical numbers, then we came home and played with our stuff. The kids of course had too much stuff- and we didn't even really go overboard. I just forget that they really need 2 things each and then whatever they get from everyone else! At least everything has been a hit. Last minute I got the kids some scooters on craig's list, so we hid them behind the couch and waited a while to show them. Elizabeth spent most of the afternoon with the helmet on and doing circles around the kitchen. They both love their scooters, it's pretty cute. We had lasagna and then the 4 of us went to John's parent's house to open presents with them. We stayed for a few hours and got to play with all of our goodies over there!
After that we came home and put the kids to bed. My family all came over and we played a game my parents had put together- their version of The Newlywed Game. No pictures of this one (too busy concentrating!) The girls went in one room and my mom asked us 15 questions, and the boys were in another room and my dad asked them 15 questions. We all got together and my dad would ask us the questions he asked the boys and we would respond out loud- and the boys would hold up their answers. It was really fun. The first 5 q's were 5 points each, next 5 q's were 15 points each, and the last 5 q's were 25 points. Jennifer and Spencer won, with us 30 points behind, and the newlyweds way behind :) We had some hilarious answers and laughed a lot. Some were hard! 'What is one item your husband couldn't live without', 'if you was given $500 how would you spend it', etc. Basically for most questions I knew the top 2 or 3 things John would think of, but I had to narrow it down to just one! Sometimes we both picked the same one, sometimes not :)
