Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a great night. We had an awesome BBQ steak dinner with all the family plus John's parents. Our tradition is to have a kind of talent night that night where we sing songs, play instruments, read a story, or whatever you want to do that has to do with Christmas. Caitlin did a solo on the chimes for us, then everyone participated in a few other songs. We did a sort of mad-libs story I made in elementary school, and our family sang 'Jingle Bells' and 'Do You Hear What I Hear'. Wayne and Roma had us sing 'Must be Santa', Jennifer and Spencer sang a duet, and mom had animal puppets from forever ago and a story about the animals around Baby Jesus. Then Dad read the scriptures and we got out the figurines and did the story of Christ's birth.

We ended with some cheesecake and then got the kids ready for bed. My mom made the kids' jammies (Grammies Jammies, and idea from her friend). They put out cookies and carrots, read a new book with Grandma and Jennifer, and went to bed. Us girls got on our new matching jammies and forced a tradition we have- watching White Christmas. And of course we got out a puzzle while we were watching! At one point we were texting with my mom's sister and she sent us a picture of what she was doing with her daughter. We laughed and called her back- they were doing a puzzle and we could see White Christmas playing in the background! Too funny.
