Elizabeth Leah, One Year

Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is a year old. Such a big girl! She will go to the doctor's tomorrow so I'll have stats then.

She is Zachary's biggest fan. She loves to follow him around but gives him space when he wants it. He asks for her to come along when he goes upstairs.

Since Zach is toilet training, Elizabeth is SUPER interested. She crawls after him as fast as she can when he runs to the bathroom. He closes the door and she never makes it in time to get in :) She does now clap whenever the toilet flushes. Even if the flusher is not Zach.

She has always been a good sleeper. She might have been born that way, but she was also trained that way and has stuck to it! She was doing 7 hours at 7 weeks, 8 at 8 weeks, etc until 11 hours, which is what she has been doing since 4 months. We kinda sailed past the newborn stage which is awesome! So nice to have two good sleepers.

She is so happy. I mean SO happy. She smiles and makes cute faces and loves everything.

She will eat anything you give her. She'll eat basically as much as you give her of something.

Her thighs are awesome. SOO squishy, plus she giggles so hard when you squish them!

She has two teeth on the bottom, two teeth that have started growing on top and three others slowly coming in. Apparently her teeth sit just under the gums for weeks before actually poking through cause the four on top have been sooo close to poking through for weeks now.

She likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but mostly doesn't pay much attention to the TV. Well, she does like Baby Einstein movies.


If you say "AWWWW" so her, she will tilt her head to the right side and give the cutest smile. Even if you do "AWWWW" ten times in a row...

She is a fast crawler and a pretty good listener. If I tell her to stop and to come back to me, she usually listens. Every once in a while I get that sneaky smile and she tries to go the wrong direction, like up the stairs.

She says Mama, Dad and Dada, AH! for Zach, Hi, Ya, Bye, Bye Dad, Ahhhh Duh (all done), and mo-mo-mo-mo for more. She also signs 'more' and 'all done'


She loves to climb up on you and talk to you. Mostly lots of 'ya. YA. ya-ya.' She acts like she is really talking to you.


She is such a sweetie. Not much upsets her and if she does happen to get bumped while playing with Zach she doesn't usually care, or is better right when he says "Sorry, Baby"

She is scared of some things, like toys that move and light up. Which is funny, I got out the toys Zach got when he was her age and she likes some but not the ones that have parts that move around loudly. She likes to do things she can do over and over, like the FisherPrice Sesame Street clubhouse John's parents have from when he was growing up. She likes to make all the little guys slide and play on it. She also FREAKED OUT last week when John put Zach's old lion costume on his head. She literally burst into tears. Don't know how she will survive Halloween...

Happy Birthday Elizabeth Leah. We love you so much and tell you every single day how adorable you are and how much we love you. You are starting to give kisses and it is so cute :) Mostly just for dad though :)
